On the City's list of council members

The terms the City of Barrie's own list of council members, 1837 to 2022, shows Brian Jackson serving, with the office and any note as the City prints them, and the milestones of each council: events from the City's history and notes, dated. The full list is on Barrie's mayors and councils.

Boards and committees

Public bodies Brian Jackson has been appointed to or recorded serving on, from this site's record of Barrie's boards and committees.
Each line is one sourced statement — a council motion, a board's own member list, a provincial order or a news report — so a seat held for years can appear several times. The record is incomplete, especially before 2013.

Electoral record

In office: Ward 9 Ran, not elected

Offices held and elections contested by Brian Jackson 2010 2012 2014 2016 Ward 9
When Brian Jackson held office (lines, coloured by office) and the elections they contested without winning (dots).
Terms are drawn from election records alone: a line runs from each election to the next one for that office — or ends early where winning a different office ended the term — so a resignation for any other reason would not appear here. How to read this table. Most council business passes on consent, with no member-by-member vote in the minutes.
The practice of recording votes by name has changed: such votes were routine through 2019, and from 2020 on usually appear only when a member asks for one. This table is every vote the minutes record by name. A member's absence from it says nothing about their position. The voice votes are in the record too: the minutes print 3,038 motion outcomes across 269 meetings, beside these 188 recorded votes. Each is listed on its meeting's page as an outcome only, because a voice vote records no one's position. The City's meeting system lists no meetings at all between October 22, 2025 and January 20, 2026, so any recorded votes from that window are missing until the Clerk provides the minutes. Where the minutes print no outcome beside a vote, none is shown here.

Each row links to the minutes document it was transcribed from; names appear exactly as the minutes print them.

Meeting attendance

How often the City's minutes list Brian Jackson as present, by body and council term. Only meetings whose minutes print an attendance list count, and only those listing Brian Jackson as a member: present, absent or excused. A member who arrived late or left early is counted present, as the minutes count them.
